I'm sick for a few days now but I couldn't rest my mind on the thought that my blog has been idle for a few days. Last Sunday, me and my cousins went to Trappist Monastery in Guimaras for a little thanksgiving. My cousins were to leave the country the following day so they insisted that we should visit Trappist for the last time. We went there around 4 in the afternoon, which was too late because the monastery's store was already close when we got there. We wanted to pray at the chapel but a mass was being held. We didn't join in because we know that we won't be staying long. so we just took photos of each other at the monastery grounds instead. I wish I could post their pictures here but my cousins are very private people. CHOS! hihihi! but they were the same cousins that I went to Cebu with :)
Went home to Iloilo last night and I headed straight to my cousin's home. This is Orange, a Siberian Husky that my cousin's friend owns. :)
My blog turns a month old today! Though I have been using blogger since last year, this is the only blog that have survived my procrastination. I wanted to post something rewarding but sort of misplaced my memory card today, so I wasn't able to take photos when we went out earlier. BUT since I already found my card, I considered posting a self-portrait instead. :) So feast on my ugly face. bwahahaha!
Thanks to all of you guys who believed in me especially to you, Mom! :D You know that I wouldn't be able to further explore my capabilities in photography without your support! Your my #1 fan! hahaha!lol joke, but seriously ma. ;) I owe all of this to you mom... and also to all of you internet kids who clicked/viewed my blog 900+ times this month!!! Yay! This is a sign that I can definitely fight my procrastination. :) *cyber hug*

I haven't posted a self-centered set since I started this blog... so I guess now would be the time to break that record. hahahaha! I went to Bacolod the other day to attend to this cosplay shoot yesterday. There were like 10 something cosplayers playing roles from one of the anime series that I have been watching, One Piece. I'd say that I was a little unlucky that afternoon. I woke up around 12 noon and we were supposed to meet with the models that hour. Then, I forgot my 4gig memory card in Iloilo, and my spare 1gig memory card was bitching on me won't work. My shorts' zipper broke and we went out late because I wasn't able to read the cosplayer's message in time. :| It was very embarrassing seeing the cosplayers braving the heat while waiting for me and CJ. :(
I had a hard time during the shoot. The venue was almost perfect, except that the sun was TOO HOT. I had lens flares on some of the photos and even though a few people told me that they weren't that destructive, I still think that they were. I borrowed Von's (one of the cosplayers and also the one who played Ryu on my previous cosplay shoot of Street Fighter) 1 gig memory card and it reached its maximum capacity in the middle of the shoot so we had to take a break for Von to transfer the photos to his laptop.
Yes, that's me fooling around with Steven's hair while on break.

Went to Cebu City with my cousins last Thursday. They had to attend their pre-departure orientation as a requirement for their migration to Canada. Another family to leave the country. They tagged me along knowing how much I really wanted to go to Cebu. There were a few mishaps on our way to Cebu but it I'd rather not share it. :P
We left Iloilo at around 6pm and it took us almost 13 hours to get to Cebu. It was the most tedious 13 hours of my life. Never mind why. We were greeted by the beautiful sunrise. I tried using Canon's Twilight Picture Style and it gave me a blazing orange horizon. Here's a picture using Standard mode.
I took this second photo at the deck.
After my cousins' Seminar Orientation, we went to Ayala for lunch then headed to Mactan Island to visit the famous Lapu-lapu Shrine.
I'm a sucker for Black-and-White photos. :)
Here's a photo of me with the statue of Lapu-Lapu :)) I asked my cousin to take this photo and it took us about more or less 5 minutes to have the picture taken. Damo arte si Nang Pao.. hahaha! But I like this picture! I look thinner. hahaha!
Going there at around 1pm was a bad idea but at least, I got to visit that historical place. :)
They said that Lapu-Lapu and Magellan battled on this shore.
A painting re-enacting the first battle of the Filipinos against European invaders.
After a little argument with the taxi fare back to the City, we visited Magellan's Cross. I believe that it marks the very first introduction of Christianity by the Europeans to the Filipinos. Can you see my cousins over there? hihihi!
I was a little surprised that in this brief moment, the grounds wasn't crowded by tourist and locals.
This was inside the shrine. I haven't paid enough attention to the painting on the ceiling when I took this photo but it shows the plantation of the cross by perhaps a datu along with a few new Filipino Christian followers, a priest, and European soldiers.
Me, posing with two of my cousins. I bought three candles for CJ's board exam this July, :)
We were supposed to go to Cebu City on Tuesday but the ship was already fully booked :( so we just bought tickets for the following day then went home. Here are the photos that I got from my cousin's home. Just thought of making a separate entry because I know that I'll be posting loads from our Cebu trip. :)
I had a very interesting shoot with my high school bestfriend Ameg (acronym to her lengthy name, Ann Margareth Elizabeth Garabato). We braved the afternoon heat together and I must say that it was all worth it.
We went to her classmate's cousin's home to shoot at their rooftop and I had a bad time climbing up. Don't ask why.
There has been a power outage earlier this afternoon, so we were left with nothing else to do but watch Cartoon Network. I wanted to do some macro shoots for my entry to an online photo contest so I grabbed a bottle of paper stars. It is a hobby here at home where we would cut sheets of papers, fold them into paper stars, and stack them inside empty liquor bottles.
Let me start this blog with a photo of my cousin. We went to Pavia, Iloilo today to celebrate the town fiesta at my Aunt's place. It has been a while since I last went there so I was so amazed at how their humble home has changed.
We were greeted by two lovely Shi Tzu (and somewhat half Maltese) dogs...
... and numerous aquariums of Flower Horn Fish.
“We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams.”
I had a mini-photoshoot with Arsteen and Yaniee earlier today. We went to this abandoned garage along the Coastal Road were they have a very old train head and other vintage-y cars. I must say that we forgot a lot of things to do for the shoot. I forgot to do Yaniee's make up. I totally forgot about the old slr camera that I brought to be used as props. I forgot about my idea of bringing a reflector. :| I forgot to adjust my camera settings when I took the first shoots... some of the images where under and some were over exposed... but despite all that, I think the shoot was a success.
It was a tedious afternoon today. I woke up around 12 noon - that was 10 hours of wonderful dreaming... Did the same routine only that I did my laundry today.
Never knew that the orchids were fake until I took the pictures earlier. :|
The first of May marks the international Labor Day. I wanted to go out and take pictures of the annual protest rally but was forced to stay at home because of the weather. It seems like the temperature rises by a Celsius each day.
My cousins planned to do wave boarding later in the afternoon but we didn't push through because we watched Mr. Bean's Holiday on the telly instead. HAHAHAHA! Anyway, I got nothing but just photos of random stuff that I found inside my room. It's still a little very actually messy since I haven't been using it for months.
You want some smokey eyes?
