Matsuri II

Thursday, December 30, 2010
Last set of photos from the Matsuri event last 26th. Got lazy, got tired. Almost forgot that there were still a bunch of photos to work on. Anyway, here they are. :)

Matsuri I

Monday, December 27, 2010
Hitsuzen Bacolod organized a matsuri / Japanese festival at the Bacolod NGC yesterday. They were joined by two more cosplay groups so I was really overwhelmed with how many they were for the event. Got to meet the rest of the gang again after almost 5 months or so.

Cappuccino Cake

Saturday, December 25, 2010
It's my first Christmas away from my family. Most of my cousins have already migrated to Canada and Christmas isn't complete without them. I spent the holiday at CJ's and the whole night I've been waiting for something to happen. I don't know what precisely but I just felt like it wasn't the 25th yet.

Anyhow, I wouldn't let it ruin my Christmas because there's nothing else that I could do but to just enjoy the festivity. I baked a Cappuccino Cake for our Noche Buena. It was my first time to bake something on my own and I was hella scared on how it would turn out. Thank God the cake was delicious. :)) Anyway, here's the recipe that I used as requested.

Kimi Ni Todoke II

Kimi Ni Todoke I

Shot a Kimi Ni Todoke Cosplay earlier with Mark Tumbagahan and Lisl Ubas. I haven't seen the anime series and haven't been to the location before so I wasn't that confident with how the project would go. But thanks to our friend Yumi because she helped us around their subdivision so we had the best places to shoot at. Mac and Lisl wasn't that difficult to work with at all. The were both so cute! so kawaii! So despite all my doubts about this project, I'm so happy that everything went well.

I always have this thing about shooting cosplays. Unlike casual portraiture, I find it very challenging. I would say that a good photo really depends on how the artist portraits the character. It's a tricky job and not a thing that anyone could just do.

Cookie Day

Friday, December 17, 2010
My boyfriend's sister-in-law has been baking these days and that somehow encouraged me to bake as well. Mom has taught me a few and earlier today, I got to bake her own cookie recipe. CJ and I had fun creaming the butter. I forgot to soften it beforehand so we had to cut it into tiny little pieces. :)) it took us a while though.  We had a few arguments whether the cookie dough was too big or what. I swear, its fun to bake with your partner.
We played with the aperture while waiting for the cookies to bake. We took these at f/1.8.

Anglesey Abbey Gardens

Monday, December 13, 2010
We went to the Anglesey (?) Abbey sometime last August. It was such a frustration that photography isn't allowed inside the Abbey. They have a nice garden and it indeed gave justice to my mom's praises. However, was almost autumn when we came there so most of the plants were already starting to wither. But nonetheless, the place made me feel like I'm in a secret garden. I can even imagine people strolling around in their gowns and cute umbrellas. It was such a dreamy place and I'm happy that they were able to preserve almost everything.
